Monday’s Power Cut
Sally and I were in early yesterday morning getting ready for another busy week at Montys when the lights flickered, dimmed and were followed by a large bang from the electrics.
There we were at 6:30 in the morning in the pitch dark, none of the fuses had blown, we came upstairs to think of a plan of action and to our amazement smoke was billowing from a manhole cover in the pavement opposite.
The fire brigade soon arrived and smothered the area in powder whilst cordoning the area off. All of us were treated to a smoke show like no other alongside acrid smelling smoke.
After what seemed like hours emergency crews from the electricity company called and sorted everything out.
Panic over, normal service has been resumed, and Monday carried on as normal.
