“Senior Tony” Is Retiring
Sadly it is with much regret that we have to report that Tony is hanging up his tape measure for the final time after 22 years of hard work and dedication at Montys.
Tony has worked in many prestigious retailers over his 52 years in the trade, starting at the tender age of 16 at Adnitts in the Drapery then Saundersons on the Kettering Road, gaining a wealth of experience and knowledge. He then moved to Swanns in Gold Street following on to Hornes in the Grosvenor Centre, up to Thackerays on the Wellingborough Road before finally joining Montys in the Spring of 1994.
Tony and his wife Diane are moving to Yorkshire to be near their daughter, son-in-law and two grand children.
Over the last 22 years Tony has established many firm long-standing friendships with customers, who have trusted his guidance, many of whom are now bringing in their sons for unbiased, knowledgeable experienced advice and styling gained over many years.
Tony will be missed by all of us at Montys. Always cheerful, with a great sense of humour and a dedication to the firm and customers that is seldom found these days.
If anyone should like to wish Tony well, please email us and we will be happy to forward anything on.
Rest assured that although “senior Tony” is retiring the suit department will be in safe hands – yes, another Tony!
“Young Tony” has been with us for 9 months now, working alongside “senior Tony” and is very well experienced in clothing. He will look after the suit department taking care of all requirements and needs with the same understanding and care to detail Monty’s customers have always received.
I hope you will join me in wishing Tony and his wife Diane our very best wishes in moving to Yorkshire. I know they will want to keep in touch with all the news back in Northampton from time to time.
Thank you Tony and from all of us a fond farewell.
