St Giles Quarter – It’s All Happening!
It’s all happening in the St Giles cultural quarter of the town.
Work is about to start on 13-15 Guildhall Road which will become a 13 bedroom boutique hotel together with a cafe serving hotel guests and visitors alongside an Indian restaurant. 30 full and part time jobs will be created when the hotel opens.
The Vulcan Works site in Guildhall Road has commenced major refurbishment. The disused buildings will be turned into a cultural hub and workspace for up to 60 businesses creating up to 200 jobs.
The Northampton Museum and Art Gallery including the Shoe and Boot Museum will see significant expansion over the next 12 months. It will double in size and link up into the old Northampton Jail on the Northampton County Council County Hall site.
And of course not forgetting the Errol Flynn Filmhouse adjoining the Derngate and Royal Theatres which opened nearly 2 years ago. If you haven’t been to try it, you should!
The area around St Giles Street, St Giles Square and Guildhall Road will be benefiting from new street lighting, trees and planters to make the area more appealing and customer friendly shopping area.
See you soon we hope.
