St Giles Street Improvements

Montys and all the retailers in St Giles Street will be asking for your patience and continued support over the next 12 months as the first phase of improvements to the street commences on Monday 22nd February.

There will be new paving, road surfaces, lighting and planting along the street in the style of Guildhall Road. The first phase will take the stretch between the Hazelwood Road and Castilian Street and should take approximately 8 weeks to be followed by the next phase between the Guildhall and Castilian Street.

During the works, St Giles Street will be closed to cars and other vehicles from time to time and will be diverted with clear signage to avoid any confusion and keep most drivers on their toes. Bus stops will also be relocated as and when required.

All the businesses in St Giles Street have been assured that disruption will be kept to a minimum but I think it will be inevitable!

Please rest assured that Northampton Borough Council and all of St Giles Street’s businesses want the transition to be as smooth as possible and will be looking forward to the transformation once complete.
